University of Massachusetts Boston My Brother’s Keeper honors Abdullah Becket! Abdullah is an African American Muslim student and is the first in his family to attend a four-year institution. He is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a Major of Exercise Health Science and a Minor in Arabic studies. Abdullah also plans to also pursue a doctorate in physical therapy!

While Abdullah is on the board for Diversity and cultural inclusion for Boston public schools, he is also the Vice President of the UMass Boston National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. (NAACP). Abdullah said “With my work in the NAACP, I use my platform to raise awareness to my community about racial equality and discrimination practices. I love to give back and help support people, especially children and teens.” Abdullah is one of the many young men in our MBK program pushing for young black and brown excellence within our community!
